The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) reported a possible ban on the import of fruit and vegetables from Belarus with documents from Kenya, India and Liberia.

Minister Sergei Dankvert did not rule out the possibility that these certificates can be forged, thus allowing products to be imported from countries that are subject to the Russian food embargo.

He added that the management of the Rosselkhoznadzor in Bryansk and Smolensk has already issued the relevant documents, and imports of goods from Kenya, India and Liberia could be fully suspended in the case of non-receipt of the authentication certificates.

The Head of Rosselkhoznadzor said that if such certificates are not received, the agency will give the order to destroy the products.
