Reporters learned from Hefei City's Zhougudui wholesale market that as seasonal fruits swarmed to the market, fruit prices such as Hainan pineapple, mango and Anhui strawberry, tumbled.
Last week, the daily trading volume of Hainan pineapples reached nearly 100-150 tons, a sign of early spring pineapple hot sales. Next to the pineapples, strawberries from Changfeng and Hujiang City from Anhui Province reach average sales of 20 tons per day.
Therefore it is estimated that as the temperature continues to rise, the spring fruit selling season will soon arrive and the prices will drop continuously following the volume increase in the market.
In comparison, vegetable prices have been showing the overall downward trend in the last three consecutive weeks. As temperature rises, the local green vegetables will come to the market more, it is estimated that the overall vegetable price will continue to fall.
