Just after the Chinese spring festival holiday, New Zealand Kiwiberry started to be listed in the imported fruit market in Kunming city. This fruit's harvest season is in late February to middle April. Compared with other kiwi fruits, its picking, boxing and packaging materials cost more, and they need to be delivered to markets around the world by air. All these factors lead to its high marketing price. In terms of storage, they need to be refrigerated, and their shelf life under normal temperature conditions lasts only 3-10 days, and up to two months if stored under zero degrees.
Kiwiberry, also known as Baby Kiwi, is a petite version among all the kiwi family members and its single weight is around 5-20 grams. Similar as grape-size, its mini appearance looks very appealing. It is estimated that global kiwiberry plantation area is only around 200 hectares, that's why its production is also limited. These kiwi berries are mainly grown in New Zealand, the United States, Canada and Chile, Russia, though some cultivation land can be seen in China, Japan and South Korea as well.
