Diminished export to Indonesia
Beginning this year, the Indonesian government will limit the import of red onion, garlic and orange from other countries. Moreover, the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture will stop issuing import licenses of red onion permanently. Under such circumstance, garlic and onion export to Indonesia will be significantly reduced, which is quite a negative factor for garlic export.

Tempered growth garlic seedlings
Currently the growth of the garlic seedlings is not as good as that in the same period last year. As it is still not clear how the weather will look like in March and April, and whether there are pests and diseases later this year, it is still too early to determine whether the garlic harvest will decrease.

However, some garlic wholesalers are pessimistic about the garlic harvest status. They believe that what matters is how much garlic output will increase, not if. Therefore it is estimated that the price of garlic will keep increasing steadily as of this week.
