Egyptian exports to the United Arab Emirates increased by 9% in 2015, surpassing for the first time the barrier of one billion dollars, reaching nearly $ 1,061 million, compared to $ 974 million in 2014. The UAE has consequently become the second largest importer of Egyptian products among the Arab countries, behind Saudi Arabia.

The Supervisory Authority on Export and Import Statistics highlighted that Egyptian exports to the UAE continued a positive growth trend, as Egyptian exports to the UAE grew by 48% between 2012 and 2014, compared with 12% at global level during the same period.

Official sources of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry have attributed this success to the country's promotional efforts, after the Egyptian participation in many international exhibitions held in the UAE, as well as to the ability of Egyptian products to compete in the UAE market in terms of quality and price.

While this data applies to all sectors, it is worth noting that some of Egypt's major export products to the UAE include fresh citrus, potatoes, fresh grapes and fresh and frozen vegetables.
