Walmart has expanded its grocery curbside pickup service to eight new locations in the US and has also doubled the store pickup locations in established markets.
The list of the markets where the service will now available include Kansas City; Boise, Idaho; Richmond and Virginia Beach, Virginia; Austin, Texas; Provo, Utah; Daphne, Alabama; and Charleston, South Carolina.
The company, which offers the service in 20 locations currently, is also planning to introduce the service in more locations in coming months.
Walmart is also doubling the number of store pickup locations in markets like Dallas, Houston and Atlanta, where this convenient service is already offered.
The latest additions mean that Walmart's grocery pickup service will be available in more than 30 markets.
With this service, the company offers customers the convenience to pick up the items ordered online conveniently thus saving time and effort.
Also, the service offers them the facility to shop whenever and wherever they want to or place an online order through mobile app and arranging for a pickup at their convenient time.
Customers can shop online throughout the week and add items to their cart. They can even create a quick order through the Walmart mobile app.
When their cart is full, they can pick a time slot for their pickup then park in designated spaces at their local store. Orders placed by 10 AM can be picked up same day.
The company does not charge for this service and offers the same everyday low prices found in its stores.
With its curbside pickup service, Walmart has been targeting smaller to mid-size markets where grocery delivery service has not taken off. The service includes both grocery items and common household goods.
