uratos Canada is set to upgrade its facility in Mississauga to enhance the production capacity of its newly launched product line of ready-to-use fruit fillings Topfil.

Furthermore, the company aims to address the demand across the country for the new product line.

Puratos Canada noted that Topfil is a new product that will allow bakeries to create natural fruit-filled products and also preserves fruit integrity, texture, and flavour.

Puratos Canada product manager Andrea Rosati said: “We wanted Topfil to bridge the gap between what is available on the market today and what is needed at the bakery and patisserie level.

“Consumers today want the perfect balance of healthiness, naturalness and taste, so our team took that knowledge and ran with it.”

Backed by Canadian-based consumer research, the new Puratos Topfil fruit filling range has been created by the in-house patisserie experts.

Topfil offers an improved texture, better bake and freeze / thaw stability and is said to be free from high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, as well as artificial flavours and colours.

Puratos Canada general manager Edouard Pot said: “The Puratos Clean(er) Label is a term we use as we believe that a clean label is an ongoing process.

“Clean label is a moving target as it changes with public opinion and we want to hit that moving target every time. Our R&D team is on-site and consistently working to improve our products in order for our customers to meet the criteria of their consumers.”

The label does not allow artificial flavours and colours, high-fructose corn syrup, non-hydrogenated fats, or trans fat to be used in products.
