The Russian phytosanitary authorities have reportedly destroyed 22 tonnes of fresh apples from Ukraine near the Russian city of Tula.

As stated by the press-service management of the Rosselkhoznadzor for the Moscow and Tula regions, the apples were found during an inspection of the vehicle, which was travelling from the Republic of Belarus to the city of Rostov-on-Don.

The documentary control showed that the product's quarantine phytosanitary information did not match that entered into Rosselkhoznadzor's information system "Argus." A visual inspection of the products revealed the presence of the marking of the country of origin "Ukraine".
