This way, Piura, La Libertad, Lambayeque, Cajamarca and Tumbes regions exports amounted to US$1.414 billion.
Piura accounted for 15.2% of shipments to the European market (US$524.4 million); followed by La Libertad (US$441.5 million), Lambayeque (US$214.1 million), Cajamarca (US$184.7 million) and Tumbes (US$49.3 million).
Without mentioning Lima and Callao, national exports to the EU reached US$3.44 billion last year, according to Perucamaras Business Research Center.
It must be noted the top markets were Spain (20.1%), Germany (19%), the Netherlands (18.5%), Italy (14%) and United Kingdom (11%).
Minerals (copper, zinc and gold) and agro-industrial products (coffee, mangoes and asparagus) were highly demanded by the EU in 2015.
