In the first quarter, the Shenzhen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau inspected a total of 109,300 tons of fruit imported by local fruit packaging factories, worth a value of $ 262 million, representing a substantial increase of 30 % and 66% respectively compared with that of the same period.
The fruit export to the countries and territories along the Belt and the Road reached
$ 157 million, a significant increase of 90.62% in comparison with that of last year. Especially by taking advantage of China - ASEAN Free Trade Area, the Southeast Asian markets become the target export markets for Shenzhen.
Taking Shenzhen Longgang Inspection and Quarantine Bureau as an example, a total of 1,211 copies of certificate of origin are issued for fruits exported to ASEAN regions, an increase of 187% on last quarter. And its fruit export value reached $ 39,280,000, an increase of 287% compared with last quarter. Among all the exported fruit categories, its citrus fruits volume increased significantly, reaching 66,700 tons, which accounted for 60% of its total export volume, and compared with last quarter, this is a 32.34% increase.
