Summer fruits should be an essential part of everyone's diet during the summer season. Pakistan's doctor Arif Majeed explains that these fruits can help you stay hydrated and protect against multiple health issues.

As watermelon has high water content it can keep your body hydrated and refreshed. The presence of Lycopene in the fruit can also protect your skin against sun damage. Moreover, watermelon decreases the risk of obesity, heart disease, diabetes and much more.

Majeed also explained the health benefits of grapes, which are extremely rich in vitamins A, C and B6. They are also a good source of important minerals like potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, iron and selenium.

Peaches are low in calories with no saturated fats. They are a good source of antioxidants and vitamin C and are also rich in vital minerals such as potassium fluoride and iron.

Strawberries are an excellent source of vitamin C, potassium, fibre and antioxidants.

A cup of strawberries a day will aid your immune system, lower your cholesterol and regulate your blood pressure. Vitamin C is good for the eyes, preventing cataracts and they also improve the elasticity of your skin which means less wrinkles.

Pomegranate is a good friend for your heart as it reduces cholesterol, improves blood flow and reduces thickening of the arteries.
