According to CNA news, extreme weather conditions disrupted Taiwan mango production. And Tainan Agricultural Association mentioned that their mango export to Japan decreased by over 50%. They also pointed out that a majority of mango growers have signed up for natural disasters, hitting the historical record high.

Associate Professor Li Xue, from Kaohsiung District Agricultural Research & Extension Station, said in an interview in the spring that Pingdong's mango harvest season normally comes between May and July. As Impact by the extreme weathers such as warm winter and abnormal rain, the harvest season of Pingdong mango will be postponed until June instead of May. Similarly, the harvest season of the Taiwan region (one of the main mango production area in Taiwan) was also delayed from June until July.
