In 2015, the Caxito-Rega company exported 200 tons of bananas from Angola to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). CEO of the Board of Directors of Caxito-Rega company, João Mpilamosi estimated that the figure could rise to 1,200 tons, this year stating that the export of banana could be extended in the near future to the Republic of Namibia and other countries in Central Africa.

According to him, Bengo province continues to lead the country's banana production, by providing annually 700,000 tons of quality bananas.

João Mpilamosi also discussed the opening Thursday 26 May at Panguila Market, municipality of Dande, Bengo province, of the 5th edition of the annual Banana Fair.

The Economy minister, Abrahão Gourgel spoke on the sidelines of the Banana Fair and stressed that banana export to the European market is a test that can raise the interest of customers in those export destination countries for different products of the agricultural sector of Angola.

Under the theme "Diversify Production to Promote Economic Growth", the Fair ran until May 29 and over 300 national and international exhibitors attended.

China confirmed its presence with three companies.
