In June, an agricultural company in Kyrgyzstan concluded a contract with a large Russian wholesale company, Agrostar, for the delivery of Kyrgyz fruit and vegetables to Russia. The Kyrgyz company, Dastan, has shipped 60 tons of carrots to Russia so far, and from August, some 40 tons of fruit and vegetables per week will be supplied to the Russian market, said the press service of the Economy Ministry.

The parties are currently negotiating the delivery of 280 tons of garlic and sweet pepper.

Dastan specializes in the production, processing, and storage of agricultural produce and sells its products in Russia and Kazakhstan.

In its export operations, the Kyrgyz company has encountered the problem of volatility of foreign markets, where prices change depending on volumes of products offered. This is particularly relevant for the production of fruit and vegetables. So in the past, the company had to constantly look for buyers that would guarantee fast sales and a fixed price. The Single-Window Center in Foreign Trade has helped Dastan to solve this problem.

After joining the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Kyrgyz agricultural producers have the possibility to export fresh and processed agricultural products to a large market of Russia and Kazakhstan. This, however, requires proper certification of products and development of necessary storage, processing and logistics facilities in the country.
