In the first half year of 2016, Ministry of Agriculture organized two times of routine monitoring on national quality and safety of agricultural products, five major categories of products including vegetables, fruits, tea, products of livestock and poultry and aquatic products from production bases and markets of 152 big and medium-sized cities were monitored. The monitoring results showed that the total qualified rate was 97.2%, and the level of quality and safety of agricultural products was overall stable.-See details.

On July 26, CFDA notified the information on unqualified imported foods and cosmetics in June of 2016, involving 233 batches of unqualified foods and cosmetics. Thereinto, 21 batches of milk and dairy products were destroyed because of failing to provide certificate or certificate of conformance as required, over-limit coliforms, exceeding shelf life, and mildew, etc.; 1 batch of Hopellac young children formula milk powder was destroyed because its vitamin A content failed to comply with the national requirement.
