A shortage of seeds and agrochemical is causing vegetable production in Venezuela to plummet. FEDEAGRO, the Confederation of Agricultural Producers Association, said that the decline in production is increasing.
The Association estimated that tomato production will total only 150,000 tonnes while consumption has reached 700,000 tons per year. There are similar findings for onion production, which is estimated at 230,000 tonnes while annual consumption is 600,000 tonnes.
Venezuela will have to massively import these products.
