Azerbaijan will increase its customs duties for a number of imported products, as announced by the chairman of the State Customs Committee (SCC), Aydin Aliyev, in a press statement.
"This decision was made on the basis of proposals from several government agencies, including the State Customs Committee, and its main goal is the protection of the domestic market in Azerbaijan, as well as its development," said Aliyev.
The increase, which will come into force on 1 November, will affect items such as meat products (fresh, chilled and frozen poultry meat), eggs, vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, garlic), fruits and nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts, grapes, apples, pears, quince, persimmon), and processed fruit and vegetable products (juices).
