Agribusiness, Nikay Bioproceso, announced the purchase of 28 tons of pineapple for processing and converting them into the pulp that is used to manufacture juices for the domestic market, especially as food for schools, to avoid importing this item that is abundantly used in the domestic market.
The general manager of the company, Cesar Aybar, said that by processing this pineapple, Nikay Bioproceso was contributing to a strengthening of the agricultural economy and benefitting producers in the field.
''At present there is an overproduction of pineapple in the Dominican Republic. Bioprocess Nikay is helping domestic producers by buying large quantities of pineapples for the production of Dominican pulps, which are then purchased by companies that supply school lunches," he said.
Aybar thanked the businesses that consume Dominican pulps, as this contributes to the development of the country's health.
