St. Clair Foods of Tennessee is recalling about 26,800 pounds of chicken and dumplings products because they contain milk, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. Anyone who is allergic to milk or who has lactose intolerance may become ill if they eat these products. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The chicken and dumplings were produced on various dates from September 13 through October 6, 2016. They have the establishment number “EST-6568” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to food service warehouses and distributed for institutional use in Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas.

The recalled products are 5 pound plastic sealed packages containing “St. Clair Foods Chicken and Dumplings” with package codes 16257, 16264, and 16280. Also recalled are 2 pound plastic sealed packages containing “St. Clair Foods Chicken and Dumplings with package codes 16257, 16264, and 16280. Finally, 5 pound plastic sealed packages containing “Ron’s Homestyle Foods Chicken and Dumplings” is recalled. That product has package codes 16280, 16272, 16264, and 16257.

If you have purchased these products and are allergic to milk or have lactose intolerance, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
