A total of 55 tonnes of Russian king crab gained its access into Chinese market through Rongcheng Port in Shandong province on 17th October. And it’s the first time that whole boat of Russian king crabs have gained entry into China through Rongcheng port.

It’s known that the batch of king crab started its journey from Zarubino, Primorsky Krai, Russia, whose value was up to 900, 000 US Dollars and sizes were 1.5 KG-2.5 KG. To accelerate customs clearance speed and make sure survival rate of the king crab, the Port adopted series of special services, like declaring, berthing and inspecting and quarantining in advance. It only took more than 3 hours for the whole clearance procedure.

Longyan Port was the shortest marine access into China from Russia. The successful import of whole boat of Russian king crab provided a convenient channel for China domestic market to import live and fresh seafood. Unit size of Russian king crab could be up to 10 KG, who acquired its credit of king of crabs by virtue of enormous size and delicious mat. Once the channel turned mature, the estimated import volume of Russian king crab each year could reach 500 tonnes.
