This year's production of industrial tomatoes in Greece is estimated to have fallen by 12% compared to last season, according to the latest estimates of the World Industrial Tomato Council (WPTC).
In particular, the industrial tomato production in Greece in 2016 is estimated at 440,000 tonnes, compared to 500,000 tonnes in the previous year, according to the WPTC.
The global production is estimated to have fallen by 8.2% to 38.008 million tonnes (down by 9.2% compared to last year in the southern hemisphere, with 2.464 million tonnes, and by 8.1% in the northern hemisphere, with 35.544 million tonnes).
