Westlife Development Limited, which owns the master franchisee of McDonald’s restaurants in West and South India, will inaugurate the first McDonald’s restaurant in RP Mall in the coastal city of Kollam. It is the chain’s eighth outlet in Kerala and 97th in South India. The 2,700sq ft outlet will seat 100 customers.

The menu will comprise burgers such as the Maharaja Mac, Filet-o-Fish, McChicken, Chicken McGrill, McSpicy Chicken, McAloo Tikki and McEgg Burger, wraps such as the Big Spicy Paneer and Chicken Wraps and variants of Saucy Wrap, and sides such as Chicken Wings and French Fries. There will be a host of hot and cold beverages and desserts.

Gerald Dias, director, south operations, McDonald’s, said, “We are delighted to open our first restaurant in Kollam, a city that has great opportunities to grow our brand. Our commitment to the residents of Kollam is to deliver a modern and exciting restaurant experience with the delicious food and beverage options our customers expect from us.”

“McDonald’s offers wholesome and delicious meal options and ensures that our customers get quality fresh food at great prices. Our menu has been created using flavourful spices that appeal to Indian palates. Our stringent focus on quality extends all the way from the farm to our restaurants,” he added.

“Additionally, we meet the special requirements of vegetarians by strictly segregating vegetarian and non-vegetarian cooking and serving areas in our restaurants. In fact, most of our sauces, including mayonnaise, and even our Soft Serves are 100 per cent vegetarian,” Dias stated.

“I am thrilled to celebrate this moment with our local team and welcome our new employees and customers together. Kerala, as a state, holds huge potential for growth, and we look forward to building our brand and our business responsibly and making a positive impact in the local community,” he added.
