The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reports that A.S.K. Foods, Inc., based in Palmyra, Pennsylvania, has recalled a single lot of its “Wegmans Family Pack Food You Feel Good About Potato Salad.” This product may contain the egg allergen, which is not declared on its labeling. It was sold at Wegmans Food Markets in Massachusetts, New York, and Erie, Pennsylvania.
This mislabeling occurred when the ingredient and nutrition label from A.S.K. Foods’ “Greek Pasta Feta Salad” was affixed to containers of the potato salad. This product was sold in 48-ounce (3 Lb. / 1.36 KG) clear plastic containers labelled as “Wegmans Family Pack Food You Feel Good About Potato Salad.” The packages are stamped with a “Sell By” date of “5/7/17 3379-4” and the UPC code “77890 24678” on a side label.
People who are sensitive or allergic to eggs may get sick and / or run the risk of life-threatening anaphylaxis shock if they consume this potato salad product. They should either throw it away or turn it to their Wegmans store for a refund.
