A recall of Green Chile Concepts burritos for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination was posted on the USDA web site. Now the FDA has added information about more Green Chile Concepts products added to that recall.

This recall is for some of the company’s burritos that are sold frozen, refrigerated, or served hot in some convenience stores, vending machines, and retail locations nationwide. The products were shipped to distribution centers in California, Illinois, Oregon, and South Dakota. The product was distributed in packages of 12 units per master case under the following labels and codes with a master case production date between March 8 and May 10, 2017, and individual item codes with Julian dates between 17067 and 17130.

The recalled products include Fiesta with item number 896 and UPC number 8 33425 00170 9, Egg & Sausage with item number 890 and UPC number 8 33425 00168 6, Egg & Bacon with item number 891 and UPC number 8 33425 00166 2, and Beef w/Potato with item number 892 and UPC number 8 33425 00162 4. Also recalled is Chicken Fajita with item number 893 and UPC number 8 33425 00172 3, Beef & Bean with item number 895 and UPC number 8 33425 00164 8, Chipotle Chicken with item number 882 and UPC number 8 33425 00332 1, and Bean & Cheddar with item number 886 and UPC number 8 33425 00336 9. Finally, Carnitas with item number 889 and UPC number 8 33425 00338 3 is recalled, along with Steak & Jalapeño with item number 894 and UPC number 8 33425 00894 4, Egg & Bacon with item number 481 and UPC number 8 83350 02409 0, Chicken Poblano with item number 482 and UPC number 8 83350 02408 3, Bean & Cheese with item number 484 and UPC number 8 83350 02411 3, and Beef & Potato with item number 492 and UPC number 8 83350 02410 6.

There have been no complaints of illnesses associated with these products received to date. If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a sealed package or take them back to the store where you bought them for a full refund.

If you stored these products at home, clean out your refrigerator and/or freezer with a mild bleach solution to kill any remaining bacteria. Wash your hands after handling these products.

If you ate these products, monitor yourself for the symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes food poisoning for the next 70 days. Symptoms can be similar to the flu, or they can include high fever, stiff neck, severe headache, abdominal pains, and diarrhea. If you do feel sick, especially if you are pregnant, see your doctor as soon as possible.
