The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) reports that Gilster-Mary Lee Corp., headquartered in Chester, Illinois, has recalled a single lot of its “WESTERN FAMILY ONION SOUP MIX” product. The soup mix may contain the egg allergen.

After receiving a customer complaint, Gilster-Mary Lee Corp. ascertained that the egg noodles contained in the soup mix were not declared on its labeling. The affected lot, distributed only to Associated Foods Warehouse in Farr West, Utah, was packaged in 4.5-ounce cartons stamped with the UPC code number 15400-03604. These cartons are also marked with a “’Best By” date of APR 10 18 D16.

Individuals who are allergic to eggs may experience a dangerous, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the onion soup mix. Purchased packages should be returned to the store for a refund or else properly disposed of.
