FDA environmental sampling found Listeria monocytogenes bacteria in the company’s processing environment. Production of these products has been suspected while the issue is investigated.

If you bought these products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a sealed package, or take them back to the place of purchase for a full refund. Then clean out your refrigerator with a solution of 1 tablespoon liquid chlorine bleach to 1 gallon of warm water. Listeria monocytogenes bacteria can grow at refrigerator temperatures. Freezing does not kill this bacteria.

If you ate any of these products, you need to watch yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis, the illness caused by this bacteria, for the next 70 days. Those symptoms include high fever, stiff neck, severe headache, muscle aches, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps. While pregnant women may only be mildly ill, listeriosis can cause miscarriage, premature labor, and stillbirth. If you do feel sick, see your doctor.
