On November 15th, National Health and Family Planning Commission issued “Announcement about the new condiment for food 2-Acetoxy-3-butanone and expanding usable range of 4 food additives including β-cyclodextrin”, including the new condiment for food 2-Acetoxy-3-butanone and 4 food additives with extended use including β-cyclodextrin, neotame, propylene glycol alginate and phosphoric acid (wet method).

On November 22nd, China Food and Drug Administration issued “Specifications for implementation of on-site verification for special food registration (exposure draft)” and solicited public opinions. Opinions should be submitted before December 5th, 2017.

On November 22nd, 2017, China Food and Drug Administration and General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine jointly issued “Announcement about adjusting transitional period for administration of registration of foods for special medical purpose” which extending transitional period for registration of foods for special medical purpose to January 1st, 2019. Registered certificate for foods for special medical purpose should be obtained for products after December 31st, 2018, and the registration number should be marked on the label and manual. On November 22nd, 2017, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) and China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) jointly issued “Announcement about registration date for product formula of imported infant formula”. For infant formula imported through ordinary trade, its overseas production enterprise should obtain registration of AQSIQ based on law . For imported infant formula produced after January 1st, 2018, its enterprise shoud obtain registration of CFDA based on law, and the registration number should be marked on label of consumer package.

On November 21st, 2017, China Food and Drug Administration issued “Decisions about revising some regulations” including revision of “Measures for administration of food production license” and “Measures for administration of food business license”, and the new edition specified that electronic certificate and printed certificate of food production license and food business license have the same legal force.
