  On January 4th, 2018, State Council issued the revised “Edible Salt Monopoly Regulation” which should be implemented immediately, and the “Rules for administration of salt industry” should be abolished meanwhile. Major reform and improvement of “Edible Salt Monopoly Regulation” were as follows: I. Uphold and improve the system for fixed-point production and selling of edible salt; II. Abolish planning management in production, transportation and sales of edible salt; III. Abolish the system of production & marketing isolation and territorial limitation for edible salt; IV. Reform the pricing mechanism of salt.
