Over half of Poles are aware of the fact that eating more vegetables and fruit each day would improve their well-being; however, only 12 percent eat vegetables more than once a day and only 14 percent do likewise with fruit. This is the result of the research study carried out in the framework of the "Vegetables and Fruits - Fortunately!" campaign.

According to the study, Poles believe that the main factor determining a healthy lifestyle is the prevention of stress (27%). Consuming several servings of fruits and vegetables a day, mentioned by more than 15% of respondents, is only 10th in this ranking.

However, physical activity and consuming the recommended foods in appropriate amounts and proportions, including several servings of vegetables and fruits a day, are considered the key to health and well-being. Taking into account the opinions of experts and the results of the research, the second edition of the campaign "Vegetables and fruits - Fortunately!", which aims to promote the consumption of Polish vegetables and fruits and highlight their impact on our physical and mental condition, will be carried out under the slogan: "RECOVER... and take the challenge!"

"In the first edition of the campaign, we tried to transfer knowledge and build awareness among Poles about the impact of vegetables and fruits on our health and well-being. Now we want to take action, which is why this year, we have invited experts in their fields to support the campaign: a sports dietitian, a personal trainer and a sport psychologist," said Agnieszka Falba-Gałkowska, director of the Federation of Trade Unions of Agricultural Producers, organizer of the campaign.

The nationwide information and educational campaign "Vegetables and fruits - Fortunately!" is financed with money from the Fruit and Vegetable Promotion Fund. The campaign is organised by the Federation of Trade Unions of Agricultural Producers.
