The Chinese market share of Zespri was worth more than 500 million New Zealand dollars (2.2 billion yuan [320 million USD]) in the financial year of 2017, which is an increase of 17.4% in comparison with the previous year. Suning also entered negotiations with several high-quality cherry traders, including the Chilean cherry committee. A spokesperson for Suning International explained that Suning will focus in the second half of this year on the selection of high-quality cherry suppliers from traditional cherry production areas, including Chile, Australia, and New Zealand.
