The acquiring parties paid EUR3,96 million to restart the Mooy Logistics businesses in Waddinxveen and Breda (Hazeldonk) in the Netherlands. The investigation into the reasons and background of the liquidation will begin shortly. The curators, therefore, cannot make any statements about what caused the business to fail.
Mooy Logistics and Mooy Beheer were declared insolvent on 14 August 2018. This was done, at their own request, by the court in The Hague. After the bankruptcy was announced, 29 interested parties reported to the curators. They were interested in a (partial) takeover. After an initial bidding round, the trustees continued negotiations with four of these companies.
The administrators finally opted for a differentiated sale of both of Mooy Logistics' locations. VDH has taken over the warehouse-activities in Breda (Hazeldonk). The GARTNER Group will take over the warehouse activities in Waddinxveen and the insolvent company's transport activities. The sale yielded EUR3.96 million. When choosing, the curators took into account factors such as the amount of the takeover bid and the retention of jobs. It is for these, and other reasons, that they chose VDH and the GARTNER Group.
The trustees have temporarily continued with Mooy Logistics' ventures. This has been done in anticipation of a restart. To this end, agreements have been reached with important stakeholders.
