MHP confirmed its intent to acquire the Slovenian firm through an announcement from Bundeswettbewerbsbehörde, the federal competition authority of Austria.
The proposed acquisition is part of the company’s strategic expansion strategy and is set to strengthen its position in the global market.

In addition, the combination of MHS and Perutnina Ptuj is expected to bring direct benefits to local farmers and employees and will have a positive impact on the poultry industry in the Balkan region.
MHP currently owns poultry cutting facilities in the Netherlands and Slovakia, as well as a sales and distribution office in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
MHP is involved in every stage of chicken production processes, from feed grains and fodder production to egg hatching, processing, marketing, distribution and sales.
