The foods were produced from September 27, 2017 through October 15, 2018. These are the recalled products: 16-ounce plastic-wrapped with paperboard sleeve packages containing HARRIS TEETER FRESH FOODS MARKET DELI-BAKERY brand BBQ STYLE CHICKEN ARTISAN PIZZA, with Use By dates ranging from 01/07/19 through 04/11/19 (inclusive) printed on the case packaging; 8-ounce butcher-paper wrapped packages containing HARRIS TEETER FRESH FOODS MARKET DELI-BAKERY brand CHICKEN SAUSAGE, EGG WHITE and CHEESE BREAKFAST BURRITO, with Use By dates from 01/24/18 through 10/25/18 (inclusive) printed on the case packaging; 8-ounce butcher-paper wrapped packages containing HARRIS TEETER FRESH FOODS MARKET DELI-BAKERY brand BACON, EGG and CHEESE BURRITO, with Use By dates from 01/24/18 through 10/25/18 (inclusive) printed on the case packaging; and 10-ounce butcher-paper wrapped packages containing TRADER JOE’S CARNITAS WITH SALSA VERDE Burrito, with Use By dates from 10/08/17 through 10/24/18 (inclusive) printed on the retail packaging. These products have the establishment numbers “EST. 19198,” “P-19198,” “EST. 46937” or “EST. 45335,” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to retail locations nationwide.
This is a secondary recall, since McCain Foods recalled their products for possible contamination in mid-October 2018. The onions in these products were recalled.
If you bought these items, don’t eat them, even if you plan to heat them first. Throw them away, or take them back to the store where you purchased them for a refund.
Since Listeria is one of the bacteria involved, it’s a good idea to clean your fridge and/or freezer with a mild bleach solution. That bacteria can grow at temps under 40°F, and freezing doesn’t kill it. If you ate these products, watch yourself for the symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes food poisoning for the next 70 days. If you do get sick with a fever, stiff neck, or headache, see your doctor.
