Fragrant biscuits, sweet and lubricated chocolate, canned fruits with different flavors... these popular leisure foods, while satisfying our appetite for food and drink, have created considerable economic output value. On November 30, we learned from the 6th China Leisure Food Industry Development Conference that China's leisure food industry has developed rapidly in recent years. By 2019, the output value of leisure food industry will reach 2 trillion yuan, and the market prospects are broad.
At the seminar, more than 300 experts and scholars conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the theme of "promoting sustainable development of leisure food industry". Despite the rapid development of leisure food industry in China, there are still many problems, such as small and scattered enterprises, low industry threshold; a wide range of products, weak brand awareness, weak market competitiveness of products; insufficient research and development capabilities of enterprises; serious homogeneity of products, fierce competition in category and price, and small profit margin. Some new leisure foods have potential safety hazards. Therefore, experts suggest that the development of leisure food industry in the future should establish high-quality and brand awareness, identify the positioning of enterprises and products, expand and strengthen leisure food; pay attention to regionalization, specialization, refinement and localization, enhance the core competitiveness of leisure food enterprises; pay attention to grasp the nutrition, health and prescription of leisure food. In the mainstream direction of development, we should strengthen scientific and technological research and development, speed up the development of new varieties, and strengthen the intelligence of equipment, so as to find a way of sustainable development.
