Users more likely to switch to natural coolants

Core Tip: The changing climatological circumstances require an adjustment of cooling techniques.
The changing climatological circumstances require an adjustment of cooling techniques. The warm summer therefore also caused busy times for contractors. “Not all cooling installations were designed for the high temperatures we experienced. We had more work because of this,” says Siebe Duivenvoorden of Celtic Cooling. “For the development of cooling solutions, we actually always look at the climatological circumstances. An installation in the Israeli desert, for instance, requires completely different specifications than an installation here. Shifts can be noticed, and we expect that the ever more extreme weather circumstances will play an ever bigger part in future.”

Price rises boost phasing out of coolant
Besides the changing weather conditions, the cool-technical company is mostly occupied with the phasing out of coolants. Celtic Cooling designs and installs custom cooling and freezing installations, air conditioning systems and solutions. Siebe: “Phasing out HFCs is in full swing, and are boosted even more because of the high price rises for coolants. We’ve noticed companies are now more likely to choose natural alternatives.” Companies with cooling installations that are cooled with synthetic coolants have four options: continuing with the existing installation and choosing a drop-in, a conversion, a new addition or a replacement. “We can actually help with all four options, and are happy to advise companies about this. After all, the choice is very much dependent on both current company activities and future plans.”

According to him, more and more companies are becoming aware of the situation. “Users are becoming more aware of investing in natural coolants, particularly because of the rapidly rising prices of synthetic coolants. Admitted, it’s quite an investment, but with the support of, among other things, energy investment subsidies, it’s not impossible. I recommend everyone to talk about it and to be properly informed. Most of all, don’t wait too long. The time to make a decision is now.”
