According to the European Union Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), on December 21, 2018, Belgium notified Taiwan's chilli oil products that were not up to standard because of the excessive migration of epoxidised soybean oil (ESBO) in these products.

It is understood that the product is glass bottle packaging, imported to Belgium through the Netherlands, originated in Taiwan. The results were 120 mg/kg - ppm. At present, products have been recalled from consumers, and no information about distribution has been obtained.
