Capitol Hill reported on Dec. 24 that this Monday China's General Administration of Customs released data showing that in November China imported zero U.S. soybeans, it was the first time since the outbreak of the Sino-U.S. trade war. In that month, China imported more than 5 million tons of soybeans from Brazil, almost doubling from 2.76 million tons in the same period last year. The report said in October this year China imported only 67,000 tons from the United States, while in November of 2017, China imported 4.7 million tons of soybeans from the United States. The United States has been China's second largest supplier of soybeans. Last year, soybean trade between the two countries totaled $12 billion.
