Oskri Organics Recalls All Nut Butters For Possible Listeria

Oskri Organics Corporation of Lake Mills, Wisconsin is recalling all of their nut butters for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. No illness reports have been received to date in connection with this issue.

The Oskri Organics Nut Butters were sold in New York, Michigan, California, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Illinois, Florida, Massachusetts, Texas, Arizona, Indiana, Idaho, Oregon, South Carolina, and Rhode Island. The nut butters were produced starting in January 2018. All nut butters with the best by dates of 6/20 and earlier are recalled.

The recalled nut butter flavors include Almond, Cashew, Coconut, Peanut (all flavor varieties), Pumpkin, Sunflower, and Tahini. They were sold in 16 our plastic jars with the lot number either on the top or bottom of the jar near the expiration date. they were also sold in pouches, and in bulk packaging.

You can see the long list of recalled Oskri Organics nut butter products at the FDA web site. The products include Organic Peanut Creamy, Organic Peanut Crunchy, Organic Peanut Spicy Cayenne, Almond Creamy, Almond Chia Flax, Cashew Coconut, Organic Sunflower Butter, Organic Tahini Butter, Hazelnut Cacao Spread, Organic Peanut Coconut, Peanut Butter Mixed Berry, and Peanut Honey Sea Salt, among others.

If you purchased any of these products, don’t eat them, even if you plan to cook with them. Throw them away in a sealed or double wrapped package in a secure garbage can, or take them back to the store where you bought them for a refund.

You should then clean your pantry with a solution of 1 gallon warm water and 1 tablespoon liquid chlorine bleach to kill any bacteria. Wash your hands well with soap and water after handling these products and after cleaning.

The symptoms of listeriosis can take up to 70 days to appear. If you ate any of these products and have been ill with fever, headache, stiff neck, and muscle aches, call your doctor.
