Taiwan is well-known for its unique food choices, from pineapple cakes to fancy bubble milk tea and beef noodles, but the true gem lies in their countless variety of fresh produce. Kaohsiung, the capital of Taiwan’s agriculture, have been contributing their crops to the world’s fresh produce industry for decades and is here to celebrate bilateral relations with Malaysia through ‘The Best of Kaohsiung: Fresh Produce of Southern Taiwan’ on the 25th of February 2019 at Aloft Hotel.
The signing ceremony will be graced by Kaohsiung’s newly-minted Mayor, Han Kuo-yu, and Euro-Atlantic’s Managing Director, Ebby Loo. Representative of Taiwan to Malaysia, Anne Hung, Economic Consular of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia (TECO), David Hsu, and Taiwan Trade Commissioner, Tasha Hsiao, will be present to witness the historic event together with local retailers and members of the media.
The event aims to further enhance bilateral relations between Kaohsiung and Malaysia, and promote Kaohsiung’s agricultural produce to the Malaysian community through the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. The ceremony entails exciting performances with Chinese drums and live cooking demonstrations incorporating Kaohsiung fruits into healthy and delicious desserts.
Kaohsiung is home to a wide variety of fresh produce such as jujubes, golden mangoes, lychees, white bitter gourds, pink guavas, and many more, in which attendees will get to sample and take home during the event.
“Euro-Atlantic has been proudly importing Kaohsiung fresh produce for the past seven years, with an estimated weight of approximately 36,000 kilograms in 2018 alone. We believe that ‘The Best of Kaohsiung’ is just the beginning of many more bountiful harvests and a fruitful relationship between us,” said Ebby Loo, founder and managing director of Euro-Atlantic Sdn Bhd.
