Strauss Group Inc. is an Israeli food and beverage manufacturer. It is currently testing a futuristic new snack that is made with the same technology used by NASA to develop food for astronauts.
The new snack is a nutritional cube made from freeze-dried and pressed vegetables, fruits, and grains. It indeed looks like something astronauts could enjoy during missions. So why not name this newest snack ‘Astro’?
Calcalistech.com interviewed Shahar Florence, chief innovation officer at Strauss Group, earlier this week. It was told that ‘Astro’ is part of Strauss’ effort to gain global advantage through innovation: “In a global perspective, Strauss is a very small company with limited resources; when we develop products for the global market we can compete through finding some ingenious patent others don’t have.”
