Core Tip: McDaniel Life-Line LLC is recalling all lots of Life-Line Water at the consumer level.
McDaniel Life-Line LLC is recalling all lots of Life-Line Water at the consumer level. FDA analysis found that the product is contaminated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

This pathogen can cause serious or even deadly infections, especially in people who have chronic illnesses or compromised immune systems. Most of these infections are contracted in a hospital setting. The product is marketed as an additive for human drinking water.

The recall notice states, “Use of the contaminated product has a remote probability of necessitating medical or surgical intervention to preclude or reverse permanent damage to a body structure or function.” No reports of illness or adverse events have been reported to the company or the FDA to date.

The recalled product, Life-Line Water, is packaged in 1 gallon bottles. The water is either taken internally or applied to the skin. The recall includes all lots of the product. It was sold in the United States and Canada through internet sales.

The company is notifying customers by press release. If you purchased this product, stop using it immediately. Discard the water. Contact your healthcare provider if you have had any problems that may be related to the use of this product. This infection is typically treated with antibiotics.

Any adverse reactions can be reported to the FDA at the government’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program. You can fill out a form online, by phone, by regular mail, or by fax.
