Breaded Chicken Patties Recalled For Foreign Materials

Productos La Aguadillana of Puerto Rico is recalling about 35,870 pounds of breaded chicken patties because they may be contaminated with foreign materials, more specifically pieces of metal. This can pose a choking hazard, and can potentially injure someone. No adverse reactions have been reported to date in connection with this recall.

The breaded chicken patties were produce don February 27, 2019 and March 1, 2019. They are:

10-pound boxes containing 47 portions of “Productos La Aguadillana, Inc. Breaded Chicken Patty,” with a case code of TCE03060A. The packaging date is 03/01/2019, and the  expiration date for this product is 02/29/2020, stamped on the label.
10-pound boxes containing 47 portions of “Productos La Aguadillana, Inc. Breaded Chicken Patty,” with a case code of TCE03058A, packaging date of 02/27/2019, and the expiration date 02/27/2020 on the label.

These products have the establishment number “P-7360” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to institutions in Puerto Rico, but were not part of the USDA’s National School Lunch Program.

The problem was discovered on March 11, 2019, after a consumer complaint was lodged with the company. FSIS thinks that some of this product may be in school freezers. School officials should check to make sure they do not have this product. The chicken patties should be thrown away or returned to the vendor.
