Top fresh spinach exports by country

In 2018, worldwide exports of fresh or chilled spinach totaled US$344.9 million. That dollar amount reflects a 33.5% gain for all spinach shippers over the five-year period starting in 2014. Year over year, the value of exported spinach appreciated 7.3% from 2017 to 2018.

Among continents, European countries sold the highest dollar worth of exported fresh spinach during 2018 with shipments valued at $184 million or over half (53.4%) of the global total. Close behind was North America at 42.4% far ahead of Asian spinach shippers at 3.5%.

Smaller percentages came from Oceania (0.5%) led by Australia, Africa (0.2%) then Latin America (0.1%) excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean.
