Azelis will distribute Kerry’s solutions for the meat industry on the Polish market, further building upon the existing partnership between the two companies. This mandate extension underlines Azelis’ global strategy to organically grow and build substantial partnerships with leading food ingredient and solution providers.
“This distribution agreement allows us to further expand our footprint in the meat sector in Poland, following our acquisition of Euroconsultant last year, which enhanced our position in the smoke flavor market,” says Renata Bugiel, Regional Managing Director of Azelis Poland & Ukraine.
This mandate builds on existing distribution relationships that the two companies have in Europe, including Red Arrow in Poland.
“For more than 20 years, Kerry has been operating in Poland through multiple sales channels, working directly with customers as well as indirectly via distributors, supporting the local food and beverage industries such as meat, bakery, confectionery, beverages, dairy and savory products,” according to Michał Stachowiak, Regional Commercial Director Kerry Poland, Ukraine & Baltics.
He continues that Kerry’s portfolio of meat technologies and solutions enables Azelis to further enhance its customer service by providing a combination of signature taste, texture, functionality, improved nutrition and clean label formulations.
As a long-term distribution partner of Kerry in Europe, Azelis has demonstrated steady organic growth, stimulated by its formulation expertise. Azelis’ strong capabilities, as well as its extensive product knowledge and experience, were vital for Kerry to choose Azelis for this specific new territory.
“Building a secure and high-functioning distribution channel for Kerry’s meat industry-dedicated solutions has been identified as a critical success factor, and thus selecting the right distribution partner for the local meat industry has been of immense importance to Kerry,” details Stachowiak.
“Working with Azelis helps us to extend our existing presence on the Polish meat market and we are confident that Azelis’ reach and know-how is a very important asset for us in this regard,” he adds.
Azelis has 19 food and nutrition application laboratories located around the world.
This year Azelis joined the Together for Sustainability global initiative for sustainable supply chains, following on Azelis’ membership to the UN Global Compact and Gold rating from EcoVadis, further strengthening the company’s commitment to be a catalyst of change when it comes to sustainable business models.
Meanwhile, Kerry broadened its clean label portfolio in the meat sector through the acquisition of IsoAge earlier this year. The acquisition came at the same time as that of Biosecur, which added an antimicrobial citrus extract technology to Kerry’s clean label solutions, particularly in beverages.
