Cosmec, an Italian company that produces automatic systems, has more than 30 years' experience in the fruit and vegetable sector and is a partner of Dutch company GREEFA. Since January 2021, Cosmec has been using inKarta, flexible packaging for fresh, dried and frozen fruit and vegetables.

"Thanks to a new cellulose material with extraordinary properties and the collaboration with Policarta AFC Packaging, we have designed an MVP-850 vertical packaging machine. It is possible to package a wide range of products in different types of packaging, using all the materials available on the market today. But it is the paper with NoW (No Waste Technology) that enables us to achieve excellent performance," said Abori Chet, director of Cosmec.

"The combination of Cosmec and InKarta is the result of research and numerous tests carried out by Policarta AFC with NoW paper on the main brands in the AGF market and beyond (Jasa, Ulma, Sorma, Gna, Ilapack, Martini, GKS, PFM, Masterpack, Redpack, Gruppo IMA). This has enabled us to design the new Vertical M/C with good performance compared to similar machines and with an average production capacity of over 35 packs per minute."

Main features of the MVP-850

Ability to use NoW paper, PP, PET, HDPE film, laminates, PE net and tape linked or separated, polyethylene or lacquered materials
Millimetric control of the uncoiling of the material rolls used
Vertical and horizontal seal bars with AFC group technology
Self-diagnosis capable of reporting malfunctions and/or defective parts
Remote control
Pulling, unrolling, driving of horizontal seal bars with Siemens brushless motors
Siemens PLC
Asem 10' touch screen with intuitive icon-based program and realistic drawings

Thanks to the innovative technology of the AFC Group sealing bars, the transition from one material (paper) to another (plastic film) and conversely is extremely simple, without replacing any mechanical part. The machine works with several specific programs and regulates the temperature, pressure, time and tension force.

"The remote control feature allows to reduce service costs by more than 80%. All commercial components are readily available on the market and use quick-release fittings that can be easily removed and replaced by any technician. However, for those who are not familiar with this, the service can be supervised remotely by Cosmec personnel."

Studies by Nextplora, the Insight Management Agency, indicate the trend towards packaging with a clear focus on sustainability, environmental awareness and recyclability. The MVP-850 is the ideal solution for those who seek to achieve perfection in their sustainable packaging in a quick and clean way. It works perfectly with NoW paper, but also with other commercially available materials, such as mesh-film laminated, separated, laminated, lacquered, PP, PET, HDPE, PLA.

The MVP-850 from Cosmec Srl is certified Industry 4.0. This allows the company to take advantage of Italian tax credit financing upon purchase.

In addition, the machines can also be available with a loan for use, completely unrelated to consumables.
