Sóller is seeking to improve public awareness of its oranges by trying to set the Guinness World Record for making the most orange juice manually on the same day. The Councilor for Economic Promotion of the Sóller City Council, Sebastià Aguiló, proposed this challenge to the Guinness World Records entity and is waiting for their answer to try to carry out the feat during the next edition of the Fira de la Taronja, which will be held shortly after Easter, and which this year could return to its more traditional format after two years marked by the health crisis.
The minimum amount of orange juice to be squeezed is 2,000 liters, which must be squeezed manually by the participants who want to join this initiative.
The orange juice obtained will go to charities, which would receive it in 25-liter bottles so that they could consume it as soon as possible. The councilor thinks that all the collaborators of this new world record should receive a diploma accrediting their participation in the feat, to be held probably in the month of May.
