The Phytosanitary Inspection of the Republika Srpska has banned the import of a shipment of oranges of 20,756 kilograms originating from Greece. According to the Inspectorate of the Republika Srpska, the import was banned due to the increased content of pesticides. The shipment was ordered to be returned to sender or to be destroyed it under the supervision of the competent inspector.

“It is important to note that consignments from which samples are taken for analysis are prohibited from being placed on the market, distributed or processed until the inspector’s decision is made in accordance with the results of laboratory testing of samples, there is no risk that the product was available on the market,“ said the RS Inspectorate.
