According to reports from China, the products did not enter the Chinese market and were either sent back or destroyed.
Unapproved food additives, issues with product quality and microorganism contamination were the key reasons for the destruction and refusal of the products, the AQSIQ report continued.
There has yet to be any mention of where the products, which covered 18 food categories, originated.
According to figures released by China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), 202 batches of inferior food – including grain-related products, pastry, biscuits and confectionary – were discovered after entering the country.
