Core Tip: US-based soup maker Campbell Soup Company plans to roll out at least 30 new soup products in its next fiscal year, to boost the sales of its ready-to-serve business.
The company will be adding new products to its Chunky and its all-natural Select Harvest lines. Some of the new flavors under Chunky line will be Chipotle Chicken & Corn Chowder and Jammin' Jerk Chicken, which will be targeted towards young men.

Select Harvest lines will be introducing two new bisques. Both the brands will feature new labels, with the Select Harvest line focusing on 100% natural distinction, reported Foxbusiness.com.

Campbell, which also sells beverages and snacks, has been seeking to grow its soup business in the US. While it launched just three soup products in 2011, it introduced 27 products in its current fiscal year, and plans to add 30 products in the next fiscal.

For the third quarter of fiscal 2012, Campbell reported that its net income slipped 5% to $177m, compared to $187m in the previous quarter, due to higher commodity costs and low soup sales.

Sales for the quarter totalled $1.82bn, up from $1.81bn in the same quarter the previous year.
