Core Tip: Thermo Fisher Scientific, a US based life sciences company, has introduced a range of machines for the Latin American market, which are designed to address weighing and product contamination issues in the food industry.
The new machines include EZx X-ray system; Xpert X-ray system; APEX 500 metal detector; and VersaWeigh checkweigher.

EZx is for companies seeking an entry-level X-ray system. It is designed to locate foreign objects found in packaged food production environments.

The Xpert inspection system is for firms with mid-level inspection demands. It offers missing-product or deformation X-ray analysis and foreign object detection, reported Foodproductiondaily.com.

The APEX 500 metal detector features a patented multi-coil design to make the magnetic flux, which occurs in the aperture, more consistent.

In addition, the VersaWeigh checkweigher can be used for objects from small cartons to industrial-sized bags, making it ideal for operations that run multiple package sizes and configurations, the company said.
